SURE MERCIES
BY Apostle Patrick Osondu | July 15, 2020
Exodus 25:
17…….22
2 CORINTHIANS 4: 1-2.
Therefore,
since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart. 2 But
we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor
handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth
commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.
HEBREW 4: 14-16. Seeing then
that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the
Son of God, let us hold fast our
confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot
sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we
are, yet without sin. 16 Let
us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and
find grace to help in time of need.
We sing, talk, read about mercy
and often in our prayer we cry for mercy especially when we sin against God,
and to men, I would define mercy as a love that responds to human need in
unexpected or unmerited way Psalm 136:
1.......26.
We should understand that mercy
does not only have to do with sin, but surpasses that. No man, no matter how
energetic, intelligent beautiful, powerful can accomplish anything without the
mercy of God.
Mercy we
should know over looks our errors while grace compliments our efforts. Mercy
looks beyond our faults for grace to see our needs. Romance 9:15. for He says to Moses, “I will have
mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I
will have compassion.” Clay cannot question the potter.
However, in Psalm 51: 1-19. David made an earnest
prayer to God seeking for forgiveness. What made him a man after God’s own
heart is his brokenness and sincerity.
Whatever you can achieve by the sweat of your face is limited to
your resources. Money set a limit to where you can go.
Matthew 9: 12-13. When Jesus
heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are
sick. 13 But go and learn what this
means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the
righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
Psalm 147: 10-11. He
does not delight in the strength of the horse; He takes no pleasure in the legs
of a man.11 The Lord
takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who hope in His mercy.
It is only God that can give you something beyond
your resources and go to all out to break boundaries and bring you to a place
where you are no longer limited.
When a man has obtained the mercy of God, his
achievement becomes immeasurable when you look at his capacity, connection,
resources would not have given him all those blessing. With this, we should
know that God do anything he chooses to do, and bless whoever he chooses to.
Therefore we need not be envious of the wicked and those who have prospered in
their own ways.
HOW TO RECEIVE
1.
Thirst: Isaiah 55:13. Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree, And instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree; and it shall be to the Lord for a name,
for an everlasting sign that
shall not be cut off.” Thirst for
God’s mercy. The blind man cried for God’s mercy.
{Prayers:
Just as I am, quench my thirst; I need your hand on my life.}
2.
Covenant/Connection: You need to have a connection/covenant with God via your seed sowing etc.
{Prayers: Whatever price I need to pay to receive your mercy,
please grant to me Lord.}
3.
Mercy: Jonah
2:1-2. Then Jonah
prayed to the Lord his God from the fish’s belly. And
he said: “I cried out to the Lord because of my affliction, and He answered me. “Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, and you heard my
voice.
{Prayers: Whatever mess I am in, by your sure
mercies bring greatness out of it in Jesus name.}
REMAIN BLESS...
