MOTHER'S: GODS PRECIOUS GIFT
BY Pastor (MRS) Ebere Osondu
Proverb
31:25-29
25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in
time to come.
26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of
kindness.
27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the
bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and
he praiseth her.
29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
Isaiah 66:13
As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.
When
we go through the Bible especially in the book of Genesis, we will see how God
ordained the first family.
He
told the woman that she will experience pain during child birth...
And that word made her the first mother on Earth...
God's love and advocacy for women is seen as He gives dignity and respect to women. That is why motherhood is a highly important calling, reason, being that God himself is pictures as a loving mother (Isaiah 66:23).
God uses this metaphor to describe the way He loves and cares for his children.
He
has the attributes of humility, He is so gracious, He is also gentle and
absolutely courageous...
And this is what women are also called out to be.
QUALITIES
OF A GOOD WOMAN
With our topic stating that women are God's Precious GIFT, it stands out for the following:-
#
G- Gracious-
A woman is seen to put the needs of her family first before hers, she also extends her good deeds to the poor.
#
I- intelligent...
A good woman is intelligent and uses her intelligence to think of how to be industrious.
#
F- faithful...
A good woman is not only faithful to her husband, but to her children and family. she can never betray them.
#
T- tender hearted...
A good woman is tender hearted, overflowing with love and kindness, speaks tenderly to people and never in any fight with people...
It is a true fact that as we have good mothers and bad mother's, just as we have positive and negative in the world. This cannot be ruled out. We have mothers that fall into these categories:
Absentee mother's- they are never there for their family. Always busy with stuff or the order and have no time to take care of their families...
Abusive
mother's
Always
raining abusive words to her children and even to their husbands...
Always comparing her children with others rather than stand in the gap with prayer and encouraging words to boost her children and husband's ego.
Permissive
mother's
These mother's, anything goes for them... They are ready to allow their children to put on anything, bring home anything and also allow any kind of behavior thereby paving a wrong foundation for them.
In
the book of Genesis 27
We
read of the story of Rebekah who assisted her son Jacob to take a blessing that
was meant for her older son Esau...
Even
when Jacob was afraid of curses from his father Isaac in case he is being
exposed...
Rebekah
responded by saying...
..."upon me be thy curse my son..."
Another significant of a bad mother is that of Herodias, in the book of Mark 6:14 (And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.), where her daughter danced so well before her father and his father Herod asked her to make a request even to half of his kingdom...
But when she approached her mother, she asked her to request for the head of John the Baptist, because he had condemned her evil actions.
In all these, we as mothers are called to be good ambassadors of Christ, to comfort, to help, to be loving to leave an examplary live that Christ will be proud of. We are precious to Him, that is why He needs us as His vessels.
We need to rise up and take our stand in our home, let us not allow the devil manipulate us out of our seat. let us stand firm and fight the good fight of Faith with courage for we shall win.
Let us know that as mothers, we are the garden in which our children as seeds grow...
So what kind of garden are we, what kind of soil are we? What matters is what we leave in our children, not what we leave for them...
Can
they be able to reproduce good gems when we are no more, or will they breed
hoodlums and fanatics?
If we look up to Him the author and finisher of our Faith , surrendering all to Him, He will surely help us. May God help us mother's to be good examples in Jesus mighty name!!!
And
may the upcoming ones among us receive Grace to become good mother's that will
raise better children that will equally raise better Nations tomorrow in Jesus
Mighty and Miraculous Name!!!
