KNOWING THE THANKSGIVING THAT IS WORTH
GIVING...
Leviticus 22:29...
And when ye will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto the Lord, offer it
at your own will.
INTRODUCTION:
Thanksgiving is not only an attitude but an act of Faith to show God appreciation over His-Goodness-and-Mercy-in the life of someone...
Every
true believer is expected to grow to the level of giving God thanksgiving for
every testimony...
...not only for himself or herself, but also, in the life of his neighbor, friends or even family members...
The
book of Luke chapter-one-
Pinpointed how Marry visited her cousin Elizabeth, who was then six months pregnant. As at then also, Mary too, was equally pregnant of our Lord Jesus...
...And immediately Mary saluted Elizabeth in appreciation of Elizabeth's- God-given-pregnancy. Mysteriously, the baby in her own womb limbed with joy and immediately,
...the
Spirit of the Living God came upon Elizabeth and
she-prophesied-to-her-and-said:
...Blessed
art thou among women...
When it comes to thanksgiving God will only receive a worthy and sacrificial one and will not for any reason, accept unworthy ones...
Anytime
you bring an acceptable thanksgiving to God;
...Such a thanksgiving, always come with singing, dancing and rejoicing before God with a good measurable substance to tell Him thank you...
...And in so doing, God will smell a good aroma of your thanksgiving...
...But
any thanksgiving that is given to God, out of persuasion or even pride, is
called...
THANKS-DECEIVING
TWO
CATEGORIES OF THANKS GIVERS:
(1)Non-thanks-givers
Luke 12:16...
And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
(2) Sparing-or-Bountiful- Thanks-givers- ...Cain and Abel...
Genesis
4:3-6.
3 And in process of time it came
to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto
the Lord.
4 And Abel, he also brought of
the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel
and to his offering:
5 But unto Cain and to his
offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
6 And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art
thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
There are four things to consider whenever you are giving God thanksgiving..
(1)You
are giving it to God and not your Pastor...
(2)
Thanksgiving is for your own good and not of God...
(3)
God is the One that gave it to you...
...And
you are only coming to thank Him for what He has done for you...
(4)
Thanksgiving is equally, a seed of mystery for other upcoming miracles...
HOW
TO MAKE YOUR THANKSGIVING AN ACCEPTABLE ONE:
(1)
A thanksgiving of Righteousness...
Proverbs 15:8
The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to
the Lord: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
Matt 5:23-24...
23 Therefore if thou bring thy
gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against
thee;
24 Leave there thy gift before
the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come
and offer thy gift.
(2) By
Singing, shouting and Glorifying God...
...Psalm 22:25...
25 My praise shall be of thee in the great
congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.
(3)
Testify the miracle God has done for you...
...Psalm:
103:1-5...
Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within
me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his
benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine
iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life
from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth
with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
(4)
don’t for any reason; thank God with a corrupt substance...
...Such
a thanksgiving, is not only unacceptable, it can bring a curse upon your
life...
Malachi 1:8
8 And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not
evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy
governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the Lord of hosts.
13-14 verse says
13 Ye said also, Behold, what a
weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith the Lord of hosts; and ye brought
that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering:
should I accept this of your hand? saith the Lord.
14 But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the Lord a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, saith the Lord of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen.
CONCLUSION
Thanksgiving is a covenant obligation that every true believer must always engage himself or herself;
...just
to prove to God that we truly appreciate Him for every of His blessings upon
our individual live...
...Remain
wonderfully blessed in Jesus Mighty Name!!!
